Samsung Galaxy SmartTag Leaked by NCC before actual launch

Today 91Mobiles has published live photos of the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag. The image was obtained from a source from the Taiwan Communications Commission (NCC).

From the published photos, it follows that the device will indeed be called the Galaxy SmartTag. The Samsung brand and this name are stamped on the front and back of the device. The labels themselves are square with rounded edges. On one of the edges there is an eyelet, into which, apparently, it is necessary to thread a strap for fastening. The tag can be used as a key fob to track the location of important items (such as keys or bags) via the SmartThings app on your smartphone. Journalists note the similarity of the Galaxy SmartTag design to the smart tag from Tile. Earlier we wrote that the device can get support for Bluetooth, UWB (Ultra-Wideband) and LTE protocols for communication. The estimated cost of the Galaxy SmartTag will be about 1,500 rubles.

Also on December 24, 2020, the 91Mobiles portal published a schematic image of the device obtained from Samsung's SmartThings app.

Samsung has not officially announced the date of the presentation of the gadget, as well as the plans for it in general, but many journalists believe that the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag may be presented on January 14 along with the new Galaxy S21 family of smartphones.
