Replacing Windows 10 Mobile? The developer showed what Windows 10X looks like on the Lumia 950 XL smartphone

Microsoft is positioning Windows 10X as a system for devices with two screens, but as the practice has shown, its interface can adapt well to any device - from computers and tablets to smartphones. Moreover, it is quite convenient to use it on small screens.

We recently told you that several developers managed to port Windows 10X to Surface Go, Lumia 950 XL and Mac with Apple M1 chip. One of them, Gustave Monce, who installed Windows 10X on a Microsoft Lumia smartphone, shared screenshots of the operating OS interface.

In the images, you can see how the system's adaptive interface works. It is worth noting that the diagonal of the smartphone display is 5.7 inches and the interface elements, relative to this screen size, look acceptable. We can say that it is even comparable to the sunk into oblivion Windows 10 Mobile, which runs the Lumia 950 XL by default.

Of course, Windows 10X does not function perfectly on a smartphone and needs a lot of improvements. But Mons' experiment confirms that Windows 10X is able to perfectly adapt the user interface to the device format.

Recall that Windows 10X is a logical development of the Andromeda OS operating system project, which was supposed to target different mobile devices - smartphones and tablets. However, the company's plans have changed: Microsoft postponed Andromeda OS and decided to try to create a dual-screen Android smartphone - it was Surface Duo. Also, the Redmond people began developing Windows 10X based on modular Windows Core, which just had the necessary adaptability for different devices.
