A new trailer for the shooter Returnal has appeared on the official PlayStation YouTube channel, in which the developers showed the main character's weapons and gadgets in action.
The player will have several basic weapons that can be modified during the passage. For example, a living uterine belcher will initially be a standard shotgun, but after exploration, the cannon may acquire explosive projectiles or learn to create acid puddles on impact.
Each weapon will have an alternate fire mode, randomly selected from an impressive selection - from electrical pulses of energy flow to a capsule with tentacles and the like. In total, Returnal will feature 10 basic weapons, over 90 abilities and 10 types of alternative fire.
As for development, after each death the heroine will return to the beginning of the time loop, having lost a solid part of her abilities and items.
The items you receive or find while wandering around Atropos have a significant impact on Selena's playstyle, strategy, and capabilities. There are means of attack, for example, a deconstructor - a guided bomb that destroys nearby enemies; defenses - for example, kinetic drain, which restores health for kills in melee, and items that give Selena an advantage in certain situations.
Returnal will release on March 19, 2021, exclusively on PS5.
