It is now possible to run multiple Android apps on Windows 10 - but with a twist

Microsoft has just given a beautiful gift for owners of smartphones Samsung - the "Your Phone" platform that mirrors the phone's contents to a Windows 10 desktop, is now able to run multiple applications installed on the Android device directly by the computer. This allows you, for example, to use mobile versions of WhatsApp, Instagram, and other software on your mobile device in the comfort of your mouse and keyboard.

This feature had been announced in November 2020, but, until then, it was exclusively for members of the Insider program (i.e., who use Beta builds of the operating system). The functionality has now been made available to any user who has Windows 10 May Update (May 2020 update) installed on their machine; the major constraint, however, is in smartphones compatible with the novelty.

You will only be able to mirror multiple applications simultaneously if you own one of the following models: Galaxy Note20 5G, Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G, Galaxy Z Fold2 5G, Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Galaxy S20 5G, Galaxy S20 + 5G or S20 Ultra 5G. They are high-end devices since it is necessary that the gadget in question has ample processing power for the “magic” to work.

The first step is to install, on your PC, the Your Phone application, available in the digital store Microsoft Store, in build 1.20102.132.0 or higher; on your phone, you need to run the Your Phone Companion - Link to Windows software, version 1.20102.133.0 or higher. It is also essential to visit the Galaxy Store (Samsung's proprietary app store) and ensure that the Link to Windows component is at edition 2.1.05.2 or later.

With everything properly installed, just keep your computer and cell phone on the same Wi-Fi network and follow the procedures described in the applications to connect the two devices. So far, Microsoft has not revealed whether the running of multiple apps will be expanded to other smartphone models or whether it will remain an exclusivity for Samsung customers.
