iPhone and other production hubs will be transferred from China: India will produce the new Apple 12

It was previously reported that Apple would transfer part of the iPhone's production capacity from China, and Pegatron and Foxconn have also established factories in India.

According to Nikkei News, Apple will move more iPhone and iPad production outside of China. Among them, Vietnam is expected to start the production of the Apple iPad as early as the middle of this year.

The report also mentioned that iPhone 12 is expected to go into production in India as early as this quarter.

Prior to this, Indian media had reported that Apple is planning to produce the iPhone 12 series locally in India, and the new "Made in India" iPhone 12 is ready.

The report also mentioned that Wistron will begin production of the new iPhone in Bangalore near the company's Naraspur factory. With the plan to invest more than 2.9 billion rupees, Wistron also plans to hire 10,000 employees for the new factory. The manufacturing plant is expected to be fully operational in October this year, and about 1,000 workers have already begun to work at Wistron.

Currently, Apple has locally produced devices such as the iPhone 6S, iPhone XR, and the new iPhone SE in India.

Some sources also pointed out that Apple is promoting local production because the iPhone manufacturer hopes to shift dependence from China to other countries. However, local production of iPhones does not necessarily reduce the price of Indian iPhones, although local production saves 22% Import tariffs.
