Gigabyte Aorus Gen4 7000s solid state drive develops a transfer rate of 7000 MB / s equipped with PCIe 4.0 interface

Gigabyte Technology has released the Aorus Gen4 7000s solid state drive. The M.2 device has a PCIe 4.0 interface. According to the manufacturer, the use of the next-generation Phison E18 controller, advanced 3D TLC NAND flash memory and DDR4 buffer has significantly improved the performance compared to the previous generation of SSDs that support PCIe 4.0.

Aorus Gen4 7000s SSDs are available in 1TB and 2TB sizes. The sequential read speed in both cases reaches 7000 MB / s, and the sequential write speed is 5500 MB / s and 6850 MB / s, respectively. Performance on operations with random access reaches 350,000 IOPS and 650,000 IOPS in read mode and 700,000 IOPS in write mode. Variants with double-sided aluminum heatsinks with "nano-carbon coating" and heatsinks with built-in heat pipes are proposed. The resource of the 2 TB drive is declared equal to 1400 TBW. The manufacturer does not provide prices.
