The British business publication BusinessFinancing Co conducted a global survey to find out the most popular gaming brands in the regions and the world at large. It turned out that Epic Games took first place in 141 countries out of 190 where the study took place. And thanks for that I must say all the same Fortnite battle royale.
Given the coronavirus pandemic, which led to the isolation and growth of online entertainment, Fortnite broke several of its records in 2020 alone, although in late 2019 and early 2020 there were the first signs of stagnation due to market glut.
Apart from Epic Games, here are the top 5:
- Epic Games
- Nintendo
- Gameloft
- Atari
- Activision
Nintendo's high position is also no surprise, as Switch remains one of the most popular and fastest-selling consoles. And last year's release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons at the very start of the pandemic led to explosive growth in interest in the game.
It is difficult to say how successful this year will be for gaming companies, but Epic Games is pursuing an aggressive policy and will continue to collaborate with top franchises.
It's hard to believe Epic Games was in a tough spot with its game projects just a few years ago.
