AMD entry-level R3 5400U appeared: 4 cores and 8 threads, vega 6 core display

It is reported on January 23 that the R5 and R7 models of AMD’s mobile Ryzen processors came to 6-core and 8-core configurations last year, but AMD also launched 4-core R3 processors for low-end products, such as R3 4300U with 4 cores and 4 threads. Now, AMD's new generation of entry-level product R3 5400U has also appeared on the running sub-platform, with 4 cores and 8 threads, and its performance has been greatly improved.

As shown in the picture above, HP’s new HP ProBook x360 435 G8 notebook is equipped with this  R3 5400U, 4 cores and 8 threads, clocked at 2.6GHz, acceleration frequency is unknown, 8MB L3 cache, and Vega 6 core display. For comparison, AMD’s previous generation R3 4300U has 4 cores and 4 threads, 2.7-3.7GHz, 4MB L3 cache, and Vega 5 core display.

A configuration like R3 5400U is very suitable for office use, and the 7nm 4-core configuration is also more power-efficient with sufficient performance.

IT House has reported that on January 13, AMD released the Ryzen 5000U series of processors, the highest optional R7 5800U, 8 cores and 16 threads, the acceleration frequency can reach 4.4GHz. AMD said that AMD Ryzen 5000U series mobile processors provide a perfect combination of performance and efficiency. Compared with the previous generation, the new AMD Ryzen 7 5800U processor has improved single-thread performance by 16%, multi-thread performance by 14%, battery life up to 17.5 hours, and up to 21 hours of movie playback on a single charge.
