Age of Empires IV is in the polish and balance phase

The developers of Age of Empires IV have summed up the development of both the fourth part and the series as a whole over the past year. The studio reported on its achievements for the given time period.

Most importantly, the Age of Empires IV is in the process of polishing and improving balance, although almost nothing has been heard about the game since the presentation of the gameplay on X019. The developers assure that everything is going according to plan - they play strategy literally every day.

Strategy development is fun. It takes time to create all the necessary systems (AI, economics, simulation, rendering, etc.), and then more time to put it all together.

But when that happens, you suddenly have a game - a game in which you have to fix bugs and adjust the balance. But you already know what game you are going to release. And the best part is that it feels like Age of Empires.

Age of Empires IV was announced in August 2017. The new part of the strategy is being worked on by the Relic studio, known for Homeworld, Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War and Company of Heroes. In-house studio Microsoft World's Edge assists with development.

Other achievements of the past year include the release of Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. In addition, in November Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition added Battle Royale, and on January 26, the title will receive the first Lords of the West expansion.
